Taumsauk Mountain State Park - Sep 1, 2013
Riders in the first Hogs on the Mountain Celebration were blessed by Venerable Bhante Vimalaramsi and Rev. Sister Khema from the Buddhist Dhamma Sukha Meditation Center in the area. They were joined by a local minister as well. “The Iron County Salvation Army was about to close its doors! Dave had the idea of Hogs on the Mountain already and we thought it would be a great way to help the charitable organization to continue to provide a safety net for the community, “ said Hogs on the Mountain organizer Denise Bates. “ The day started at the Arcadia Academy in Arcadia at 12:30PM where the bikers assembled and then rode up the mountain for the blessing. They then went back to the Academy grounds for a festival including food and music. Some counted over 400 roaring bikers at the event.
